Minnesota authorities are now focusing their efforts on a park near the Mississippi River to find a 6-year-old missing child. Her mother was found dead by police over the weekend.
Northfield Police Chief Mark Elliott stated that Elle Ragin, a Northfield resident, has not been seen since Sunday June 19.
Officers found her mom, 39-year-old Lisa Wade, dead in the family’s home on Maple Brook Court and warned that the deceased woman “may have been involved in the disappearance” of the child. Police stated that they did not have any other suspects Tuesday.
“We remain optimistic, but the information we have provided is encouraging.” [and]Elliott stated that while we have evidence at the moment, we are concerned about not being able to locate her.”

He stated that Lisa Wade drove approximately noon on June 21 from Northfield to Mississippi River Park, Stearns County.
Her phone went off at 3 p.m. that day and she hasn’t turned it back on since.
According to Elliott, Wade made contact with a Stearns County deputy and a maintenance worker on June 23. She was alone at the time and allegedly told the officer that she’d lost her phone and the keys to her black Honda CRV while hiking before asking for assistance.
Elliott stated that the deputy made arrangements to have her car tow to a shop in order to obtain a new key.
Wade was “distressed” after she attempted to make contact with her family members the week before, he claimed. She appeared on surveillance video on several occasions between June 23 and July 2 – each time without her daughter.
Police said that no searches of the house or surrounding areas by land or air yielded any results. They searched the park and areas of the Mississippi River for cellphones that belonged to Elle and Wade. They found the girl’s phone on land and Wade’s phone, keys and purse underwater.
The area has been closed to the public by police and the search continues as of Tuesday afternoon.
According to authorities, Elle stands approximately 3 feet 6 inches tall and weighs in at 45 pounds. Elle has brown eyes and curly brown hair.
Anyone with information on Elle’s whereabouts is asked to call Northfield police at 507-645-5477.
Police are awaiting lab results following Wade’s autopsy.
