According to the Memphis Police Department on Wednesday, Young Dolph was shot and killed. 36-year-old Adolph Robert Thornton, Jr. was the rapper.
The police department said that “The preliminary information indicates Adolph Robert Thornton Jr. is the victim.” tweetedWednesday afternoon “However, this information is confirmed once the identification process has been completed.”
“This shooting is yet another example the senseless gun violence that we are experiencing locally, and nationwide,” the department said. “Our hearts go to the Thornton Family and all those affected by this terrible act of violence.”
Officers responded to a shooting at Makeda’s Homemade Cookies at 12:24 p.m., where a man died on the spot.

In 2016, Young Dolph released his debut album, “King of Memphis”. The album peaked in No. 49 on the Billboard charts, and his hits include “Get Paid”, and “1 Scale.”
He and Key Glock gave 200 Thanksgiving turkeys away at Memphis’ West Cancer Center just two days ago.

Young Dolph was born in 2017. ApproachedAccording to the Los Angeles Police Department he was attacked by three men and shot over “beef”. He was left with serious injuries but survived. He was also involved in another shooting that year. At least 100 bullets were fired at his vehicle.

Mayor Jim Strickland said that Young Dolph’s tragic shooting to death is yet another reminder of the pain and violence that violent crime brings. tweeted Wednesday. “My thoughts, prayers and best wishes to his family and friends.”
The news was shocking for many musicians and rap artists.
Chance the Rapper – “God bless Dolph!” tweeted. “Real independent Memphis rapper, born in Chicago. Millions of people loved him. Every time I saw him, he showed love.
LL Cool J sent his love to the rapper’s loved ones. tweeting“Relax in power, Brother.” I pray for your family and children to be covered by the almighty and lifted up by Him.
“R. I.P. To my friend Dolph,” Gucci Mane tweeted. “This broke me heart.”
