“I’m here tonight, to report my story; it’s unacceptable; you expect medical professionals to give the correct doses,” parent Denise Iserloth Submitted to ABC7.
Iserloth reported that she took her children, ages eighteen and eleven, to Sutter Health’s pediatric vaccine clinic in Antioch. They received 20 micrograms of dose instead of the recommended 10.

14 children were misdiagnosed by the clinic on Saturday.
Sutter Health said in a statement that it warned the parents of the mistake, explaining, “As soon as we learned of this, we contacted the parents and advised them of CDC guidance in this situation.”
But Iserloth said she wasn’t made aware of the error until 10 hours after the shots were administered. Her children both stayed home on Monday due to stomach pains. Her oldest child also fell twice within hours.
Iserloth stated that she understood the mandate and tried to comply with it. However, my children have been given a double dose of the drug and I don’t know the long-term side effect.

Shawn Iserloth, Shawn’s husband, said that they “assumed there was more in order to prevent this happening, but evidently at this place there wasn’t.”
ABC 7 reported that children should be fine, and that symptoms should disappear after a few days. During clinical trials, children were administered 10, 20, or 30 micrograms.
“Headache, muscle pains, fever in certain cases, chills. But they should disappear in a few days. Dr. Chin-Hong stated that he would recommend holding on, not worrying too much, and that it is normal.

Sutter Health said that it is now reviewing the incident and how to avoid it from happening again.
“The safety and well-being of our patients is our top priority. We immediately reviewed our processes to ensure that this does not happen again. According to the CDC, patients who are given a vaccine with an insufficient diluent volume may feel more fatigue, arm soreness, headaches, or fever as a result of the dose received,” Dr. Jimmy Hu (chair of the Sutter Health COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force) stated in a statement.

The Iserloths claim that they are still waiting to hear about the fate of the 14 children.
Denise Iserloth stated that there has been no explanation as to why this happened to her children and the other 12 involved children.
California’s incident comes as close to 100 Maryland children were also given the wrong vaccine doses. The shots were given to the children at a South Lake Elementary School in Montgomery Village that was diluted more than what was recommended.
